What if anything is wrong with animal/human hybrid research?

Public consultation on Animal/Human hybrid research has begun in the UK as reported by the BBC.

While I personally understand the ick factor response, and am personally bothered from an animal ethics perspective (as I am by most medical research) I am curious about what is particularly contentious about animal/human hybrids? Does anyone have any suggestions or opinons?
